Elder M C Coleman II

MC Coleman was born to the late Elder M.C. Coleman, Sr. and Beatrice Coleman in Mendenhall, Mississippi on March 26, 1954. He was the fifth child of 10 children. He attended Harper Vocational Attendance Center, where he participated in Track and Band. His track accomplishments gained him many honors and awards, including High Jump Champion. He went on to attend Copiah-Lincoln Junior College and afterward he enlisted in the United States Army. During his Army years, Elder Coleman was a Field Artillery Soldier and was able to display his athletic abilities by breaking the Army Track record for High Jumping. After his term in the service, he remained in the Army Reserve and served in Operation Desert Storm. Growing up while working with his father, the late M.C. Coleman, Sr., Elder Coleman developed the love for Gods' people and the work of the Lord. Elder Coleman was called into the ministry as a young man and attended C.H. Mason Seminary School and was ordained as Elder in the Church of God In Christ. Elder Coleman was asked by the late Bishop Theo Davis to serve as Jurisdictional Sound Engineer. Afterward, he continued to serve and work in the position under the late Bishop Hollis Musgrove and the current Prelate, Bishop Daniel T. Littleton. He served in the capacity for 30 years until his health failed. Elder Coleman's faithfulness and knowledge afforded him the opportunity to serve the International Church on the Logistical Team as Chief Sound Engineer. Also, he served in this capacity for the International Women's Department under the leadership of General Supervisor Emeritus Willie Mae Rivers and remained in this position under General Supervisor Barbara McCoo Lewis. On August 29, 2018, he married the love of his life Della Myers. With this union, Elder Coleman gained a daughter and a grandson. He is preceded in death by his parents Elder M.C. Coleman, Sr. & Mother Beatrice Coleman; brothers: Danny Coleman and Ray Charles Coleman; sister: Missionary Winnie Traxler; one son: Anthony Johnson; Father-in-law: Isadore Myers; and Mother-in-law: Mother Bernice Myers. To cherish his memories, he leaves a very loving and devoted wife, Della Myers- Coleman of Jackson, Mississippi; three sons, Monte Coleman, Elder Clyde (Jackie) Johnson, and Steve Johnson all of Jackson, MS; his daughter, Caryn Myers; ten (10) grandchildren: Quameron Myers, Antoine, Alexis and Anthony Johnson, Jessica McDuffey, Chellsie Mcclloun, Christopher Johnson, Makayla Johnson, Jaylon Johnson and Tre' Johnson all of Jackson, MS; two sisters: Evangelist Edith (Benjamin) Ferguson, Moss Point, MS; Florastine Grubbs, Mt. Olive, MS; four brothers: Rev. Keith (Tracy) Coleman, Fairfax, VA; Elder Melvin (Rita) Coleman, Leesville, LA; Paul (Shandra) Coleman and Elder Johnny (Jennifer) Coleman all of Jackson, MS; Aunts: Missionary Dorothy Heidelberg, Laurel, MS; Mrs. Mamie Castille, Sandusky, Ohio; Mrs. Ollie Mae Brown, Cleveland, Ohio; Anna Clark, Mary Ward and Mattie Bell (Willie J.-deceased) Ward of Brandon, MS; Minnie (Curtis) Brown of Raymond, MS; Annie Burks (Lee Ernest) of Brandon, MS; uncles: Joe L. Mason, Los Angeles, CA; Tommie (Laura-deceased) Ward of Slidell, LA; E.L. (Shirley) Ward of Brandon, MS; Bennie (JoAnn) Ward of Brandon, MS; Johnnie (Jeannia) Ward of Jackson, MS; one god-daughter: Martessja Hartzog, and one god sister: Brittahnye Brown Patton, both from Brandon, MS, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends and family members.
