Mrs. Sharon Denise Citizen

Sharon Denise Moody Citizen was born on July 14, 1969, in Hermanville, Mississippi, to the late Robert Moody and Susie Moody Greer: She was the eldest of six siblings. Sharon received her early education at Jessie H. Jones High School and later pursued higher education at Texas Southern University. She distinguished herself professionally through her dedication and excellence in the customer service field. At an early age, Sharon accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior at New Light Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. She possessed many interests, of which cooking was her greatest passion. Sharon found joy in fellowship with family, friends, and members of the church. She was known for her gentle spirit, steadfast faith, and remarkable strength and determination throughout her illness. Sharon was united in holy matrimony to Calvin T. Citizen, with whom she shared 31 years of marriage. Together; they established their home in Mississippi and lovingly raised their sons, Jeremy, Michael, and Jerrell. Sharon faithfully served alongside her husband as First Lady of Shady Grove Baptist Church in Benton, Mississippi; Mount Charity Baptist Church in Carthage, Mississippi; and ultimately Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church in Flora, Mississippi. Her dedicated service continued until declining health led to her passing. Sharon leaves to cherish her loving memory her devoted husband, Pastor Calvin T. Citizen; her sons, Jeremy Moody (Sophia Cattenhead) of Pearl, Mississippi; Michael Moody (Danielle) of Vicksburg, Mississippi, Jerrell Flanagan of Houston, Texas. She also leaves her treasured grand-angels, Payton, Noah, Kai Lacey, Jaden, and O'Byrant James; her mother, Susie Moody Greer; her brothers, Robert Moody (Teresa) and Guewon Truitt (Markeetia); her sisters, Nicole Moody, Mary Warner, Clarissa Smith, and Sharika Smith; her mother-in-law, Wilda Citizen; and her brothers-in-law, Joseph Citizen (Carrie) and Larry Citizen. In addition, she leaves a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, dear friends, and the beloved members of Good Samaritan Missionary Baptist Church, all of whom will continue to cherish her legacy. Sharon was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, and her beloved stepfather, Tommie Greer, who lovingly cared for her.
